While travelling through the lovely german wood I saw this sign:

„SLOW Waldwichtel (wood gnomes) crossing“. It would have been great to meet them in person, but I hadn’t the luck to find one.

Peach 36

Today is my last day at the home of my host Heike in Germany. I sit in the sun and relax.

Peach 04

Me in front of the Fankfurt skyline. It was such a sunny day with a very blue sky. Great luck!

Look, behind me you can see the Frankfurt Cathedral (German: Frankfurter Dom, officially Kaiserdom Sankt Bartholomäus). It is a Roman Catholic Gothic church located in the centre of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew. St. Bartholomew’s is the main church of Frankfurt and was constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries.

Peach 06
Uuh, I have to rest a bit. Frankfurt is very impressive.

Right behind me you can see the castle Ronnneburg. The castle and the surrounding town which has the same name were first mentioned in a historical context in the year 1258. I am looking forward to visit it in the next days.

Peach 09

Sunset in the Wetterau. The area of the Wetterau is located north of Frankfurt am Main, on the eastern side of the Taunus and south-west of the Vogelsberg. The Wetterau has a long history and is one of the oldest cultural landscapes in Germany.

Peach 10

Driving my bike in the wonderful Wetterau near the Ronneburg castle.

Peach 11

Can you see the castle Ronneburg in the distance?

Peach 12

I love to rest in the nature and think about my travel through Europe. Now it is march in Germany and the weather today is nice and warm.

Peach 13

Today I visited the castle Ronneburg. Here I am in the atrium of the castle with the castle keep (32 metres) behind me. The castle and the surrounding town which has the same name were first mentioned in a historical context in the year 1258. The castle is a museum. It was very impressive to walk through this old castle.

Arrival in Germany. Today I arrived in Germany. After a travel by train I was a bit tired. Now I have to pick up my bicycle, which was transported in the goods wagon. I am happy to be here and stay at the home of Heike. A great adventure through Europe begins.

Peach-02

After my host Heike picked me up at the train station I visited the place where she lives. It is a nice little village at the German countryside in the near of Frankfurt/Main in the middle of Germany.

Peach-03

After days of fog and clouds Heike told me, that it is the first day with sun here. How wonderful the warm sun is.

Hugs,
Peach
